Timarni Master Plan has been created for Timarni Town. Timarni is a town located in south west Madhya Pradesh in Harda district. Timarni is connected to Itarsi-Khandwa-Bhusaval by Western Central railway’s broad gauge line. National highway-59A passes through Timarni and connects Sodulpur in south at a distance of 8 kilometers and district headquarters Harda in west at approximately 18 kilometers distance. State highway-15 connects Pagdhal, Seoni, Malwa and Hoshangabad in east which is at a distance of 14, 26 and 74 kilometers distance respectively.
The town is also connected to major cities like Indore and Bhopal via NH-59A and SH-15. As of 2001 India census, Timarni had a population of 19,178. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. The latitude of Timarni is 22.369230 and the longitude is 77.226143. It is located between the 22° 22′ 9.2280” N and 77° 13′ 34.1148” E.

Objectives of Timarni Master Plan
The objective of the Timarni Master Plan is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Timarni Master Plan in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centres, it will be critical to define their growth framework The future growth framework of the urban centres are defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Timarni Master Plan has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centres. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Timarni Master Plan provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down net-work of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their interrelationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centres and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
