Rajasthan Sub-Region Master Plan 2021 has been created for Rajasthan Sub-Region. Rajasthan Sub-Region is the Gateway to Rajasthan from the northern part of India. RSR is situated in the north-east part of Rajasthan. It is bounded on the north and north-east by Gurgaon district (Haryana), in east by Bharatpur district (Rajasthan); in north-west by Mahendragarh district (Haryana), in south-west by Jaipur district (Rajasthan); and in south by Dausa and Jaipur districts (Rajasthan).
Alwar is the district headquarter and also the largest town of RSR. It includes 16 tehsils, 14 Panchayat Samitis and 2,021 villages. The tehsils are Neemrana, Behror, Mandawar, Kotkasim, Tijara, Bansur, Kishangarh, Alwar, Ramgarh, Thanagazi, Laxmangarh, Rajgarh, Kathumar, Reni, Govindgarh and Malakhera. Alwar town lies 170 km south-west of Delhi and 150 km north-east of Jaipur. NH-48 (old NH-8 Delhi–Jaipur National Highway) passes through RSR and connects Gurgaon, Maneswar, Bawal and Rewari within the NCR. NH-148 (old NH-11A) passes through south-western part of RSR and NH-919 (old NH-71B) connects Rewari to Palwal in the north.
RSR is well connected by roads within the state and with surrounding districts of Haryana. Alwar is connected by Delhi-Ahmedabad broad gauge rail line which leads to Jaipur, the state capital. A railway line originates from Alwar and connects to Mathura. There are 18 railway stations in RSR. The nearest airport to Alwar is Sanganer Airport located at Jaipur which is about 150 km from Alwar.

Objectives of Rajasthan Sub-Region Master Plan 2021
The objective of the Rajasthan Sub-Region Master Plan 2021 is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Rajasthan Sub- Region Master Plan 2021 in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centers is defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Rajasthan Sub-Region Master Plan 2021 has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centers. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Rajasthan Sub-Region Master Plan 2021 provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down network of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their inter-relationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centers and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
