The objective of Karamsad Master Plan is to create enabling spatial and land use planning frame work to achieve the vision of Karamsad Master Plan.


Karamsad Master Plan has been created for Karamsad. Karamsad is located at 22.55°N 72.9°E. It has an average elevation of 35 metres (114 feet). Karamsad is a city and a municipality in Anand district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is part of the Chhagaam Gol (“Circle of Six Villages”). Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of India’s greatest leaders in the Indian Independence Movement grew up in Karamsad. As of 2001 India census, Karamsad had a population of 28970. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Karamsad has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 84%, and female literacy is 71%. In Karamsad, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
