10,000 Houses Sanctioned For Rajamahendravaram Under PMAY
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development has said that a total of 10,000 houses were sanctioned for Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh and an amount of Rs 133 crore was also sanctioned relating to basic facilities.
The Minister inspected the newly-constructed houses in Bommur under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), NTR Urban Housing Scheme etc along with rural MLA and officials of housing department.
Later, addressing the gathering, he said the government initiated steps to complete as many as 6.81 lakh houses in the state with quality. As part of it, in the first phase, about 4,200 houses were constructed and works relating to 3,676 houses of the second phase would also be commenced shortly. Underground drainage, community hall, school and protected drinking water units also are provided in the newly-constructed colonies.
There was no dearth of funds relating to housing activity and the government was ready to spend any amount for constructing houses to the poor people in the state, the minister averred.
He asked the beneficiaries to avail the schemes judiciously. Rural MLA said that with the cooperation of state and Central governments, many houses were sanctioned and the construction work was in progress.
The government would take back the houses from the beneficiaries if they give their houses for rent or sell them, he warned. Eighty acres of land was ready for constructing houses and asked the minister to sanction more houses. The government devised a plan to accord pensions to toddy tappers in the state, he added.
